Performing Arts Production Manager (Seattle, WA)
FLSA Status: Salaried Non-Exempt Academic Year (10-month + 2 weeks)
Full-Time (100 % FTE - 40 hours per week)
Reports to: Matt Lai, Assistant Head of School for K-12 Programs
When Needed: Immediately
Pay Rate: $72,000 - $80,000
The Performing Arts Production Manager will support the Performing Arts department with all aspects of their programming. They will model clear communication and collaboration, and support the organization and logistics for all performing arts events and performance spaces.
This position reports to the Assistant Head of School for K-12 Programs and works closely with the school’s Performing Arts Department across K through 12th grades, as well as staff, faculty, leadership, community members and outside vendors.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

Build and manage the Performing Arts Production calendar and coordinate scheduling and details with other divisions and departments.

Oversee, manage, and maintain use of spaces in Benaroya building (theater, greenroom, lobby, scene shop) for all events, including scheduling of spaces, maintaining equipment, and providing orientation for those who use the space.

In collaboration with the Performing Arts Department Chair, build and manage the Performing Arts budget.

Partner with the Performing Arts Faculty to identify the vision for, and feasibility of executing, all design/technical elements for all Performing Arts productions. (costumes, lighting, sound, set and props)

Identify outside hiring needs, define roles and responsibilities for all Performing Arts support positions (outside vendors, independent contractors, guest artists, etc), and partner with the HR department and Business offices to onboard them.

Function as a liaison with Facilities and Technology departments to streamline procedures and support equipment/space maintenance/management in all Benaroya spaces.

Collaborate closely with all stakeholders (performing arts faculty, department chair, division directors, senior leadership team, etc.) to support a successful and sustainable K-12 performing arts program.

Participate actively in school/division/department/committee meetings on Wednesdays until 5:15 pm

Conscientiously complete other duties as assigned
Experience and Professional Competencies:
Preferred candidate has degree in Technical Theater or related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience in Production Management (or equivalent experience) and scenic and lighting design preferred.
Experience with at least two of the additional following fields (costume design, sound design, projections, stage management) preferred.
Experience teaching and working with young people is preferred.
Demonstrated commitment to creating welcoming spaces for students of all backgrounds required.
